Solar-Tectic LLC is please to report that the paper “High efficiency perovskite/crystalline silicon thin-film tandem solar cell from a highly textured MgO [111] buffered glass substrate: a proposal” has now been published by the Journal of Energy Challenges and Mechanics, a Scottish journal based in Aberdeen. The open-access paper is the first ever to be published by a peer reviewed journal on the topic of a perovskite/crystalline silicon thin-film tandem solar cell. Such a solar cell is a better alternative to the perovskite/silicon (wafer-like) tandem solar cell design which has been proposed. This is because crystalline thin-film silicon can be manufactured at much lower temperatures using much less material. This technology promises to be a major game-changer in the solar cell industry.
